Course Overview
Motivation is at the core of everything we do. What motivates us to accomplish something? Is it because it will bring us wealth? Is it because our boss will be angry if we do not do it? Is it because we would like better health? The key is finding out what motivates us. The same goes for our patients. What motivates them to get off the couch and actually start that exercise program? What will motivate them to stop smoking this time? What will motivate them to be compliant with their medication regimens? What will motivate them to finally take control of their health? Motivation can come from something as simple as just looking at a situation differently and seeing an aspect we once over looked. Different techniques can help us and our patients to become motivated. What motivates you?
